W I Report

Margaret Anderson, an enthusiastic volunteer, told us about the history and work of the Woodland Trust. It was set up in 1971 to save an ancient wood in Devon. Now it welcomes the public to walk in 1100 woods. Volunteers restore woodland to encourage wildlife; preserve ancient woodland; create woodland using native species; and increase awareness of the trust's work. Using www.woodland-trust.org.uk you can find details of local woods and how to dedicate a tree as a gift.

We were asked to join the campaign to support dairy farmers, by sending postcards to the Prime Minister.
Committees were formed for the 90th anniversary celebrations and for next year's Spring Show.
Next month Ian Willocks is telling us about Highland dress.
