Distraction Burglaries Warwickshire police have asked that if anyone should see a black Audi car, registration number RJ 02 NZU or AO 55 RDY, they should phone 999 immediately with details of time and place. The people in the car(s) are allegedly responsible for distraction burglaries where they pretend to be working for the water company. They are apparently very plausible, asking, having gained admittance to a house, that the householder holds the downstairs taps to check for for vibration whilst they look at the other taps around the house. These people usually, but not exclusively, target the elderly or the infirm. David Hill |
