Vicarage Notes

Thought for the month

May I wish everyone a very happy and peaceful Christmas.  Despite the ever present problems at home and abroad, I hope that a simpler focus on the Christ child will help folk to enjoy what should be a very special time.  There is, of course, a warm welcome to the services at St. Lawrence’s.

Carols and music abound at this time, from the plainly crass to the wonderfully inspiring.  May the words we sing or hear help us on our spiritual road to Bethlehem, and may we in some small way reflect the light of our Lord.

What can I give him, poor as I am?  If I were a shepherd, I would bring a lamb.

If I were a wise man, I would do my part, yet what I can I give him ... give my heart.

Best wishes and God bless,
