Village Hall - Events

Friday 23rd October - Bavarian Evening

We are importing a little bit of Munich into Oxhill with our version of the Oktoberfest.  We’ll have German beer and sausages coupled with sauerkraut and possibly some black bread – those who over-indulge might be ‘Wurst’ for wear, boom, boom!  There is a prize for the best ‘lederhosen’ or example of German national dress but Prince Harry is not expected to attend.  We will have a CD of German Oompah music to accompany the food.

The cost vill be £12.50 per person and a good time vill be had by all.

Saturday 14th November– Auction of Promises

This event will be a joint event to raise much needed funds for both the Village Hall and the Village Church.  Brian Emmerson & Tom Heritage have agreed to be the Auctioneers and they hope to raise lots of money to share between various Village Hall projects and the Church.

We are seeking ‘Promises’ or ‘articles from the attic’ from anyone in or associated with the Village.  If you have any ideas or anything suitable, please call Tricia Harbour (680676) or Lilian Welsby (680468).  The sort of ‘Promise’ that could be donated could be a free car ride to Birmingham Airport, or a free evening’s Baby Sitting or the free use of your Holiday Home for a week – anything that you feel able to donate that you think that people will want to bid for.  As regards ‘articles from the attic’ we are thinking of substantial things like fitness bikes, bicycles or garden furniture.  To start us off, The Peacock has generously given us an excellent ‘Sunday Lunch for Two people’ voucher to be auctioned.

Entrance to the Auction will be £2.50 per person which will entitle you to a drink and snacks.
