Garden Club News The evening was distinctly autumnal but the first talk of the season transported us to the clear skies and sunshine of the French Alps. Dr. David Arthey, accompanied by his wife Jenny, showed us a vast variety of alpine plants. The colours were spectacular as was David’s memory at remembering all the Latin names. The qualities of the photographs, which were collected personally by the speaker and his wife on hikes in the Alps, which they obviously know well, were superb. I found it amazing that such beauty can be found in such barren ground right on the snowline. Reminder of future dates:
