A relaxed, enjoyable evening was experienced by us all through Janeanne Peachey's easy to follow suggestions on planting summer bedding flowers in containers. She displayed a moss lined hanging basket, a cone one, adding a base of polystyrene fragments to help drainage and a terracotta pot. Janeanne made light of tucking the flowers in quite roughly but ensuring that they all fitted close to the centre of the basket or tub. Packed with plants ready to flower I think we all would like to have seen her displays blossom in the weeks to come. However, there were plenty more flowers, all lined up, ready to buy for those keen enough to give it a go.

Reg announced the change in the July outing. It will now take place on Wednesday 20th July - a guided tour round Broughton Grange, to include tea and cakes @ £9/head. The June Garden Party will take place at the Hedley's home @ £5/head, to include a glass of wine and plenty of food.

Our next meeting will be on 26th May when we will hold our plant sale at 7 p.m. ; don't forget to label with the plant name, any relevant details, the price and your allocated letter.
