Deanery News

An Evening for Shipston Deanery:

Tuesday, November 6th at 7.15 for 7.30 pm at St. Edmund’s Church, Shipston.

Bishop John, the Bishop of Warwick, will be leading an evening for our Deanery, to which everyone is warmly invited, entitled:

Healing in Three Dimensions:

Worshipping God,
Making New Disciples
Transforming Communities.

This is a quiet, devotional service, during which Bishop John will be offering the ministry of healing and anointing. It promises to be a very special evening, and I would encourage as many of you as possible to join us, and take the opportunity to meet Bishop John.

Treasurers’ Meeting

Also in St. Edmund’s, the following week, we are holding our special meeting for treasurers, and also church wardens and any members of the Deanery Synod who are interested.  This gives us a chance to look ahead at the budget for next year, and also to look at some of the more general issues facing treasurers. We shall be meeting at St. Edmund’s Church, Shipston, at 7.30pm on Tuesday, 13th November.

A Prayer for Remembrance Sunday:

Grant, O Lord,
for the sake of those whose lives were lost in war,
and for the sake of the generation to come,
that the nations of the world may learn your way of peace;
and that all may have a chance to enjoy the life you have given them,
free from war, tyranny and oppression. Amen.

Roger Tomes
