Tysoe Tennis

Our mixed team came a creditable 3^rd in Division 4 of the Banbury & District Mixed League - a good result. Well done to everyone who played and many thanks to Julian Gardner for running the team.

Both ladies teams were in the same division (4) of the Evesham Ladies Summer Tennis League. The A team were mid table after 8 matches but ended on a winning streak and finished 2^nd which means that they will be promoted. Unfortunately, the Bs came 5^th and will go back down to Division 5. Thank-you to Alison Sayer for being captain of the B team.

Winter leagues

Mixed: We have entered two teams in the Banbury League. Julian continues as captain of the A team and David Lamb has kindly agreed to captain the Bs. Both teams are in the same divisions as last year – the As are in Division 3 and the Bs are in Division 4. Good luck!

Ladies: Winter matches are underway in the Stratford League. The As have stayed in Division 5 and the Bs, who were promoted, are now in Division 6. Both teams have got off to a good start - the As drew their first match against a strong Leamington D side while the Bs won against Henley-in-Arden. Julie Smart has stepped down as captain of the Ladies A and Sylvia Wilcox is back in charge with Irene Beever replacing Alison as captain of the Ladies B.

Club tournament

Our club tournament went ahead on Sunday 23 September despite dismal weather. Fourteen players took part and it was great to catch up with some old friends as well as welcome new faces. We hope to hold another one in the spring – when it might be warmer and drier!
