Art Exhibition at the Old Chapel

For the second year the Old Chapel in Oxhill was the venue for an art exhibition as part of Warwickshire Open Studios.  This year the space was shared by four artists, myself, Linda Rasa, Jill Jeffrey and Paul Hitchman.

I think most people in Oxhill will know Jill who lived in Back Lane for many years.  Jill is a member of the Pastel Society and has a huge following for her landscapes, and as expected, sold many pictures.  Linda Rasa from Brailes also did well with her beautiful ‘pearl in a silver nest’ jewellery, and her ‘wish nest’ hanging in the tree in the front garden of the chapel attracted great interest, particularly from a holidaying couple from Switzerland who were ‘just passing’!

Paul’s stunning and unusual stained glass was perhaps the star of the show and resulted in several sales and commissions.   As well as my art furniture this year I have done large wildlife portraits on canvas and as well as selling two pictures I received three commissions.  Thank you to everyone who came to see the exhibition, despite Wimbledon and the scorching weather, and stayed for tea and cake, the proceeds of which will be split between OWLS and Chernobyl’s Children.

Many thanks to Jill Tucker for allowing us to use the Chapel again, and to Janet Gardner, who kindly let us use her field as a weekend car park.
