Pongs - Whatcote Road

For all those residents living on Whatcote Road we all experienced some disruption during the early part of the year following the replacement of the collapsed sewer pipe. Whilst it was an in-convenience, like us, we all hoped it would stop some of the smells that were being experienced up and down the road.

Following the completion of the work we began to notice a very bad sulphur type smell both outside and inside our house first thing in the morning and last thing at night. This has been consistent now since the work has been completed and following quite a few telephone calls,  visits from Severn Trent and a lot of head scratching we’re still trying to identify the root cause.

We are aware there are a number of residents who are suffering from a similar situation but may not be reporting the problem to Severn Trent. If this is the case and you are concerned about reporting the problem, then I am happy to raise the wider problem to Severn Trent to help them identify the root cause.

Therefore, if you are happy to share details of the problem you are experiencing, please email me on dean.checkley1@btinternet.com and I will compile a collective case which I can raise with Severn Trent to hopefully get some traction on getting the problem resolved.

Many thanks

Dean Checkley
