Deanery News

It was lovely to see so many taking part in the Pilgrimage: it was a very special time, and we enjoyed the most wonderful hospitality. So a big thank you to everyone who helped in any way, and I trust that in whatever way you journeyed with us between Ascension and Pentecost, it was a time of renewal and refreshment for you, and a chance to spend time with our living Lord.

On Tuesday, June 7th, at 7.30 pm in St. George’s Church, Brailes, Tom and Emma Moffatt are coming to Deanery Synod to spill the beans on their recent trip to Ethiopia: ‘Ethiopia: the wonders and glories of its history, church and people’. Everyone is invited, and because it is summer we want to begin with drinks (Prosecco and fruit juice) and nibbles: if you are able to help by bring a plate of nibbles that would be wonderful, but absolutely not compulsory!

Later in the month, Bishop John will be visiting the Deanery, and leading a special service of healing in all its dimensions, which will include the ministry of healing.  This is for everyone – to worship and encounter God together. The service is on Thursday, June 30th, at 7.30 pm in St. Edmund’s Church, Shipston.

Finally, please remember in your prayers Sarah Bourne and Nikki Moon (now based in Harbury) as they are ordained priest in the Cathedral on July 2nd.

And do enjoy the Queen’s Birthday Celebrations!

Every blessing, Jill
