Vicarage Notes

Thought for the month

November is the month to remember, not only “gunpowder, treason and plot”, but more importantly, All Saints and All Souls on the 1st/2nd and the following week Remembrance Sunday. All Saints celebrates the unknown and unsung men and women, who, down the years, have held to their faith and been exemplars on Christian virtue. At All Souls we specially remember loved ones who have died over the years and whose memory we treasure. As this is the centenary of the outbreak of the Great War, Remembrance Sunday has a special poignancy – all are very welcome to the village service that day.

They shall not grow old as we that are left grow old;
age shall not waery them nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning,
we will remember them.

Thanks

The September Barn Dance was a great success socially and financially with
over £1000 raise, and together with the quiznight cheque of £375 from The
Peacock, officially brings the Restoration Project fundraising to a conclusion.
Huge thanks to everyone involved! We are now planning the re-decoration of
the nave, cleaning the belfry and the provision of new guards to the belfry louvres.

Best wishes and God bless,
